What are THC vapes?

THC vapes are electronic vaporisers that make cannabis extracts containing the cannabinoid tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) inhalable. The liquid THC extract (liquid or oil) is held in a cartridge or a disposable device, heated by a heating coil and inhaled as an aerosol.

Note: Vapes containing THC are not legally available in Germany. This guide provides factual information about the technology and the legal situation. No content should be understood as a recommendation to buy THC products.

How does a vape pen work?

The basic principle is the same for all vapes: a rechargeable or single-use battery powers a heating coil, which heats the liquid to vaporisation temperature. The resulting aerosol comes out through the mouthpiece. Depending on the device, there are disposable pens (cartridge and battery in one) or cartridge systems (replaceable cartridge).

Why are THC vapes banned in Germany?

Liquids and concentrates containing THC do not fall under the exceptions of the Consumer Cannabis Act (KCanG). The KCanG only allows adults to possess certain amounts of cannabis and to grow it privately for their own use. Extracts, concentrates and liquids are not covered and are not legally available either in stores or online. Medical cannabis is regulated separately in the Medical Cannabis Act (MedCanG) and is only available on a doctor's prescription.

Which cannabinoid vapes are available in the shop?

We do not sell THC vapes. In the shop you will find cannabinoid vapes with other ingredients and their own legal status:

• HHZ vapes: semi-synthetic cannabinoid, currently listed neither in the BtMG nor in the NpSG annex (as of August 2026)
• Superior Blend vapes (H2/H3): combination of several cannabinoids, profile documented in the COA
• CBD vapes: cannabidiol, classified as non-intoxicating, freely available

Frequently asked questions

Have THC vapes been allowed since cannabis legalisation?

No. The KCanG did not legalise THC vapes. Adults are only allowed to possess certain amounts of cannabis, not extracts and not liquids.

What is the difference between a THC vape and a CBD vape?

CBD vapes contain cannabidiol from industrial hemp, which is classified as non-intoxicating, and are freely available in Germany. THC vapes contain THC as a concentrate and remain banned.

Which vapes are available in the shop, if not THC?

The shop offers HHZ vapes and CBD vapes. Both are products in their own right, not a substitute for THC. You can find lab analyses (COA) on the product pages.
