What is Full Melt Hash?

Full Melt Hash refers to the top quality grade of cannabis concentrates made from trichome material. The term "Full Melt" means that the material melts completely when heated and leaves no burnt plant residue. This is considered a sign of very great purity.

Quality grades: the star system

Full Melt is classified using the 6-star rating system:

• 1 to 2 stars: Basic quality, a lot of plant residue, no complete melting
• 3 to 4 stars (Half Melt): Medium quality, partial melting
• 5 to 6 stars (Full Melt): Maximum purity, complete melting without residue

How Full Melt Hash is made

Full Melt quality is achieved almost exclusively through wet extraction (Ice Water Hash / Bubble Hash) followed by freeze-drying. Freeze-drying (lyophilization) preserves the terpenes and the consistency of the material better than air-drying.

Full Melt vs. Rosin

• Full Melt Hash: Trichome material, obtained mechanically, very pure, not yet processed into oil
• Rosin: Oil pressed from hash or flowers using heat and pressure, solvent-free, but an additional processing step
• Live Rosin: Rosin made from freshly frozen (live) plant material for maximum terpene preservation

In Germany, hashish containing THC, such as Full Melt Hash, is subject to the Consumer Cannabis Act (KCanG).
