How is frozen hash made?

Frozen hash is made in a solvent-free ice water process. This is the decisive point: no chemicals or gases are used, only cold, water and fine sieves. Freshly frozen flowers are carefully stirred in ice-cold water until the brittle trichome heads come loose. Across several sieve stages, often called bubble bags, the resin is sorted by fineness, dried and gently pressed into hash.

This cold process is exactly what defines frozen hash. Because the material is never dried with heat, volatile monoterpenes are retained that classic hash loses during air drying. This explains the more pronounced aroma and the softer, often creamy consistency.

What does frozen hash look like?

In colour, frozen hash usually ranges between light sand gold and dark golden brown, depending on the strain and resin fraction. The consistency ranges from powdery and sandy to soft and kneadable. Cleanly processed resin is easy to shape at room temperature and does not feel chalky.

The smell is a good indicator of quality. With frozen hash, it is more pronounced than with dry-sifted hash because more terpenes are retained. Piatella smells earthy and spicy, Purplegum sweet and berry-like, Blueberry Fresh bright and fruity. A musty or hay-like smell, on the other hand, points to poor storage.

How much THC is in HHZ hash?

The active cannabinoid of these products is HHZ. The THC value is shown separately in the lab report: the MeshFlash strains are declared with a THC content below 0.2 % and tested externally in a lab.
